Silver Eagle T-Dolly · Aerodynamic Converter Dolly
The dolly that closes the gap on the highway.
Over 3% fuel savings on the highway portion of a route. No route changes, no new trucks, no driver intervention — the T-Dolly retracts at highway speed, closing the gap between trailers and cutting aerodynamic drag.

Gap at highway speed

The idea
At highway speed, the gap between trailers is pure aerodynamic drag.
A standard converter dolly leaves a gap between the lead trailer and the pup. At city speed that gap does not matter much. At highway speed it becomes a wind tunnel. The drag bleeds fuel every mile of every route, every week, every year of the dolly's life.
The T-Dolly does one thing differently. It retracts. Above a set highway speed the drawbar pulls in and the two trailers close to within inches of one another. The wind tunnel collapses. Drag drops. Fuel burn drops. The driver does not touch anything. The dolly does the work.
How it works
Three positions. One automatic mechanism.
AT CITY SPEED
Standard gap.
Below the retraction threshold the dolly sits at conventional length. Drivers maneuver, turn, and reverse just as they would with any other converter dolly.
AT HIGHWAY SPEED
The drawbar pulls in.
Past the threshold the mechanism retracts the drawbar and pulls the pup trailer in toward the lead. The two trailers close to within inches of each other.
THE RESULT
Drag drops. Fuel drops.
The aerodynamic dead zone between trailers collapses, and drag the engine was fighting simply disappears. Run your own routes and diesel price through the calculator to see what that is worth.
The math
The math is yours to run.
What the T-Dolly is worth depends on your rigs, your routes, and your diesel price — which is why we built a calculator instead of printing one number. Put in your fleet's highway miles, MPG, and fuel cost, and it works the savings out in front of you.
The mechanism does the same job every highway mile of the dolly's service life — the savings start on the first run and keep compounding for as long as you pull it.
The calculator runs your fleet's actual numbers in real time — see what the T-Dolly is worth to your operation.
Drivers like it too
Closer trailers track straighter.
When the two trailers are close, the rig behaves more like a single unit — less sway in crosswinds, less wandering on lane changes. Drivers notice it on the first long highway run, and the steadier ride is easier on tires, suspension, and the trailers themselves.
