Where the FTT fits
When the freight does not respect a standard trailer.
Specialty heavy haul punishes commodity trailers. The deck flexes. The tie-downs slip. The structural margin runs out in the middle of a duty cycle the supplier never specified for.
The Silver Eagle Fifth Wheel FTT is engineered around the freight you actually haul — by an engineering team that walks the design across the same factory floor that builds it.
How it's engineered
DECK DEFLECTION
Gusseted, plated, tied directly into the chassis.
Deflection stays in spec where commodity trailers begin to walk. We size the deck to the load profile, not to a brochure number.
KINGPIN GEOMETRY
Side-pull and visual indicator, scaled up from the dolly line.
The same hookup discipline we engineered into our converter dollies translated up to the fifth-wheel scale. Cleaner hookups, fewer mis-pin incidents, fewer comp claims.
LOAD-PROFILE TUNING
Tie-down and recessed track positions built around your load.
Engineering does not stop at the spec sheet. Mounting positions, structural reinforcement, and securing geometry are all tuned to the actual freight before fabrication starts.
